Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you identify difficulty and low interest as causes, and discuss effects on the science workforce, technological development, companies, and individuals’ income. The response stays focused on the topic and gives an example involving access to electronic studies in rural areas. However, some ideas are less fully explained than others. For instance, the claim that students choose “common studies” could be clarified with a reason, such as perceived ease or clearer career pathways. The effects on society are also broad: explain more directly how a smaller science workforce affects services, innovation, or the economy. Developing these links and making the examples more precise would make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on effects, and a conclusion. The reader can follow the main progression, and signposts such as “Examining the reasons” and “Furthermore” help indicate relationships between points. This shows some effective organisation beyond a basic sequence. At times, however, linking is mechanical or the connection between sentences is unclear. For example, “For example, passing exams can be obsolete specially in technological branch” does not clearly support the preceding point about students finding science challenging. The conclusion also repeats the causes and effects without drawing them together. Use clearer links between each claim and its explanation or example, and ensure pronouns such as “it” have an unmistakable reference.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “scientific topics,” “artificial intelligence,” “technology market,” and “qualification,” and you use some less common expressions such as “hard nut to crack.” However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “students,” “science,” and “impact,” while several inaccurate choices make meaning difficult to follow. Phrases such as “passing exams can be obsolete,” “come intact with science subjects,” and “goodpaid jobs” are not natural in context. Spelling errors, including “soceity,” “artifical,” and “influnence,” also reduce clarity. Build a more precise set of collocations for education, employment, and innovation, and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “if students are not choose scientific subjects” and clauses beginning with “which” and “as.” This shows an effort to vary sentence forms, but control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make the intended meaning harder to understand. Examples include “learners are not tend to choose,” “science subjects require … that students are not willing to perform it,” and “it also show a negative influence.” There are also problems with articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, as in “a patience” and “area.If.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and verb patterns, and review each sentence for complete clauses and punctuation before submitting.
