Student answer (Band 5.5)

In certain nations not sufficient learners are selecting to study science at university. There are some reasons such as a big amout they have to pay for fee or faculty does not have proper knowledge of science therefore, lots of bad effects happen on the society which I will explain in then following paragraphs.

Firstly, main reason behind this is learners financial condition does not strong enough and fees in university are generally high.As a result, they not choose to study in university.Another reason is, sometimes in education orgnaztion faculty does not have sufficient knowledge of science or they way of teaching is not apporopirate to students. For exaample, many university give chance new teachers to teach students and they does not check their background and qulification in study so that, students are not comfortable from their teaching methods and spread bad reviews about it so other students not choose university to study in science.

From this reasons there are lots of bad effect impact on society such as if students pass out from this type of university where they did not gain enough knowledge about science and they become a professionals such as enegennier or doctors so it is very bad for society because they not have expertice in it.Furthermore, if pupils not select bad university then it is good but they will prefer to not study in all university then it is negative for society and also for them. This is because society does not get experts in science field and it is major concern that they will not get higher education in this field.

To sum up, not selecting bad university is favourable for students, but not do study in university have many bad impact on society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both parts of the question by giving possible causes—high university fees and inadequate science teaching—and describing consequences such as a shortage of qualified professionals. These points are relevant, but the response only partially develops them. For example, the link between poor teaching and students avoiding science is explained, while the financial cause is stated briefly without showing how it affects students’ choices. The effects paragraph also shifts between graduates from poor-quality universities and students avoiding university altogether, so the central social impact is not consistently clear. The conclusion repeats the idea that avoiding a poor university is favourable, but does not clearly summarise the causes and effects. Develop each main point with a clearer explanation or example and maintain a consistent focus on science study.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on effects, and a conclusion. Basic signposting such as “Firstly,” “Another reason,” “Furthermore,” and “To sum up” helps readers identify the sections. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and connections between ideas can be difficult to follow. In the effects paragraph, the move from graduates lacking expertise to students avoiding all universities is abrupt, while “From this reasons” does not clearly refer to a specific cause. Some linking phrases are used mechanically, and the conclusion introduces a contrast rather than neatly drawing the discussion together. Organise each body paragraph around one clear main idea, then explain its consequence in a logical sequence with precise referencing.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “fees,” “teaching methods,” “experts,” and “higher education,” which helps communicate the general subject. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts of the response difficult to understand. For instance, “a big amount they have to pay for fee” is an awkward way to describe university costs, and “bad effect impact” combines two similar expressions. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “amout,” “orgnaztion,” “apporopirate,” and “enegennier.” These errors sometimes obscure meaning, particularly in the example about professional qualifications. Build a more accurate set of phrases for discussing costs, teaching quality, and workforce consequences, and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a cause-and-effect structure beginning “As a result” and a conditional sentence beginning “if students pass out.” However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty. Examples include “learners financial condition does not strong enough,” where the possessive and verb structure are incorrect, and “they does not check,” where the subject and verb do not agree. Missing or incorrect articles and sentence boundaries also affect clarity: “at university. There” needs a space and clearer punctuation, while “in all university” has an incorrect singular form. Practise building accurate sentences with subject–verb agreement, articles, and plural nouns before adding extra clauses. More reliable control of these basics will make your ideas easier to follow.
