Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is fact that in many countries not enough students are choosing to study science at university. There are many factors behind this phenomena which has both positive and negative impacts on the soceity.

To commence with the reasons why most of students are not intrested to take science at university. First and formost reason is, high expenses as most of students come from the poor family they can't aford the science education they requried high fund. Second reason is ,it is difficult subject, therefore, some students cannot understand the science concepts and require a lot attention for grabbing science knowledge due to which pupils are no willing to take science in universities.

There are many impacts on the society, starting with positive effects. As students shows their intrest in different zones such as information technolgy, fashion designing, etc. which help to bring different talents in the society which is need to today's era. If students go with only science study it will be hard for government to adjust and provide the jobs to all.

Negative impacts can not be ignored as it is time of technology and science is expanding their branches rapidily, therefore, a country needs human resources to develop its country as if all people stop taking intrest in science it may stop the progress of a country.

To conclude, There are many factors which taking steps of learners from the science, however by encouraging the adults and open more plateforms for them, we can balance this.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both causes and effects, and the response stays focused on the question. The causes—education costs and the perceived difficulty of science—are relevant, while the effects section recognises both alternative career fields and the risk of slower national development. However, these points are only briefly explained: for example, you do not show how limited science enrolment affects particular sectors or support the claims with a specific example. The positive effect about job availability is also not clearly connected to the question. The conclusion proposes encouragement and more opportunities, but does not clearly summarise the main effects. The response is 237 words, so it is 13 words below the required minimum; this limits the space available to develop your ideas fully. Add explanation and a relevant example for each main point.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on effects, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “To commence with,” “Second reason,” and “To conclude” helps readers identify the stages of your argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear. The effects paragraph begins with positive effects, but the point about government providing jobs is not clearly linked to the claim about different talents. The shift to negative effects is understandable, though the relationship between low science enrolment and national progress needs a clearer explanation. Some linking phrases are repetitive or awkwardly used, and the conclusion introduces a recommendation without clearly tying it back to the preceding discussion. Organise each paragraph around one main idea, then explain its consequence in a clear sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “science education,” “information technology,” “human resources,” and “progress of a country.” There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “adjust and provide the jobs,” but this collocation is unclear and makes the intended point harder to follow. Frequent spelling errors—including “phenomena,” “soceity,” “intrest,” “aford,” and “rapidily”—are noticeable and reduce the accuracy of the writing. Some phrases are also imprecise, such as “different zones” and “open more plateforms.” Build a more reliable range by learning common academic collocations and checking spelling carefully. More precise wording would help you explain the causes and social consequences without relying on repeated general terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a cause-and-effect structure with “therefore” and a conditional idea beginning “If students go with only science study.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to understand. Examples include “It is fact” and “most of students,” where articles or determiners are missing, and “students shows,” where the subject and verb do not agree. In “which has both positive and negative impacts,” the reference to “factors” also creates an agreement problem. Punctuation is inconsistent, with missing spaces after full stops and commas. Practise accurate sentence patterns, especially articles, agreement, and clauses joined with “which” or “if,” then proofread each sentence.
