Student answer (Band 5.5)

We are living in 20th century where science is everywhere, from starting a day by alarm to ending a office call via mobile phone or laptop. In many countries still enough students are not choosing science as primary subject though students are the future of the countries.

Most of the children is very much afraid of mathematics from childhood as they do not have clear vission , for which they are not comfortable to choose science in future. Also money is the big issue. To study science subjects are demanding higher tution free than other subjects. Most of the students are belongs to middile class family, so most of the time they cannot afford it. Also as a small percentage of students have interest on other subjects except science.

As I already mentioned students are the pillars of near future, if the could not get the exact help from society of government they cannot shine as per their potential. As a result society is lacking as a whole. AI is everywhere, in the meantime if we do not take the courage to teach them about new technology then the superior countries will overpowering us very soon.

In Bangladesh, Pakistan students are not very much familier to new technicalities of science and as a result they are lacking in everywhere. As compared to this countries India is very much better because they give scholarships to the deserving students to pusue the subject science at the universities. Also in USA or canada, students are very much interested in science. They are discovering many things which impoves our day to day life and make their country proud.

To conclude this, I can say goverment should start funding their students to pursue study science and encourge them from the begining of their schooling to create new ides and technologies as science is nothing but a new technic which make vission more reliable and conmsistent.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both required parts: you suggest causes, including fear of mathematics, tuition costs and students’ preference for other subjects, and discuss effects such as weaker technological capacity and reduced national competitiveness. The examples of scholarships in India and scientific discoveries in the USA and Canada help make the discussion relevant. However, some effects are asserted rather than explained: for example, “society is lacking as a whole” does not specify what society loses, and the claim that other countries will “overpower us” needs a clearer link to the shortage of science graduates. Develop each main point with a specific consequence or example, and clarify how the causes affect students’ choices.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, two paragraphs on consequences and examples, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “Also,” “As a result” and “To conclude” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The paragraph beginning “As I already mentioned” repeats the point about students being the future rather than smoothly developing the effects, while the shift from Bangladesh and Pakistan to India and then the USA and Canada makes the comparison difficult to follow. Use clearer topic sentences and organise the effects and country examples around one central point in each paragraph. Make references such as “these countries” unambiguous.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “scholarships,” “new technology,” “deserving students” and “discovering,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range and control are limited, and several inaccurate or unnatural choices make parts of the argument harder to understand. For example, “tuition free” appears to mean tuition fees, “technicalities of science” is unclear, and “science as primary subject” is not a natural phrase in this context. Spelling errors such as “vission,” “familier” and “pursue” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of expressions for education and social impact, and check spelling and collocations carefully; this would make your ideas clearer and more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, using clauses with “as,” “though” and “if,” and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction occur across the response. Examples include “Most of the children is,” “students are belongs,” and “the superior countries will overpowering us.” There are also awkward or incomplete constructions, such as “To study science subjects are demanding higher tuition…” and “if the could not get the exact help.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Practise forming accurate subject–verb patterns and conditional sentences, and proofread each sentence for a clear subject, verb and complete structure.
