Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You address both parts of the question: you suggest that science is expensive and difficult, and you identify reduced development and shortages of workers as social effects. However, these points are only minimally explained. For example, “science subject hard and expensive” gives possible causes but does not explain why these discourage students or provide a clear supporting example. The effects are also vague: “technology is loss” and the reference to doctors and researchers being “litter” suggest consequences, but their meaning and connection to society are unclear. The response is also 61 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop relevant ideas. Explain each cause and effect with a specific example and clearer reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic overall structure, with an opening, a paragraph about causes, one about effects, and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the intended parts of the answer. However, progression within paragraphs is difficult to follow, and linking is often repetitive or inaccurate. For instance, “second reson” signals another cause, but the following sentences do not clearly develop it; “On the hand hand” is an unclear transition into the effects. Ideas such as course difficulty, other subjects, and social development are placed together without clear connections. Use one main idea per paragraph, arrange supporting details in a logical order, and use simple, accurate links such as “Another reason” and “As a result.”
Lexical Resource: Band 4.0
You use a small set of relevant topic words, including “science,” “university,” “society,” “technology,” and “doctors,” so the general subject is recognisable. However, vocabulary is basic and repetitive, and frequent spelling and word-choice errors strain the reader’s effort. Examples include “chosing,” “expensived,” “less development,” and “struggle for works.” Some intended meanings are hard to identify, such as “science lap many think works shop.” Aim to learn accurate topic collocations and use them consistently—for example, “study science,” “scientific research,” and “a shortage of skilled workers.” Proofreading spelling and choosing precise words will make your ideas much easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to communicate causes and effects using simple statements and some longer constructions, including “because students are not chos this time our society technology is loss.” However, sentence structures are very limited, and frequent errors in sentence formation, verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation sometimes distort meaning. For example, “some countries students are not choosing” lacks a clear possessive or prepositional structure, while “science subject hard and expensive” has no finite verb. Several sentences also run together or contain incomplete clauses. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then join related ideas with “because,” “so,” or “which means that.” Check each sentence for a subject, a correctly formed verb, and clear punctuation.
