Student answer (Band 4.0)
nowadays, students are choosing commerce stream and art stream as compared to science. Students are more focusses on business accounts, psychological theory, student in science, physics, chemistry, mathematics biology, which are the tough subjects in today's life. moreover Subjects like physics, chemistry, and biology. There are much complicated to the student who are not understanding the theory and practical industry. Focus nature of the courses. Commerce is much more reliable as compared to science because it includes business management hospitality operations, sustainable hospitality development by choosing a commerce stream a student is having a less burden of studies in his/her mind students are having much fear of science because they think the science subject, but as my point of choosing science is having a best path to doctor and Engineer. But commerce stream is having much more and easy methods study in chemistry, we have to learn all 108 chemistry modules like sodium, carbon, lithium, barium, etc for instance but at my point of you, I will choose commerce because commerce stream is much more reliable and helpful for today's generation and easy for us to understand everything of business ethics

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You identify a plausible cause: students may avoid science because they see subjects such as physics, chemistry and biology as difficult, while commerce seems less burdensome. However, the response only partially answers the question. It does not clearly explain the effects on society, such as shortages of scientists, engineers or medical researchers, and it shifts into a personal choice of commerce rather than developing the social consequences. The examples about chemistry modules and careers are relevant starting points, but they are not explained or connected clearly to the task. The response is also 59 words below the required minimum, leaving too little space to develop both causes and effects. Address each question directly and support the points with specific consequences.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
There is a recognisable central topic, and the response moves from students’ subject preferences to reasons science may seem difficult. However, ideas are not arranged into a clear overall progression: causes, comparisons between streams, and your personal preference are mixed together, while the requested effects on society are absent. There are no clear paragraphs to separate the main points, and connectors such as “moreover” and “but” do not consistently show the relationship between ideas. Some sentences also repeat the comparison that commerce is easier or more reliable. Organise the response into an introduction, a paragraph explaining causes, and a paragraph on societal effects, using linking phrases to make each step in the argument clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “business management,” “psychological theory,” “practical,” and “sustainable hospitality development,” which shows an attempt to discuss different fields of study. However, the range is uneven and several expressions are imprecise or awkward, making parts of the argument difficult to follow. For example, “more focusses on business accounts” and “reliable” do not clearly express why commerce attracts students, while “108 chemistry modules” is an unclear description of the elements listed. Repetition of “much more” and “easy” also limits precision. Aim for accurate academic collocations such as “perceived as demanding,” “career prospects,” and “shortage of skilled professionals,” and choose vocabulary that directly explains your point.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts some longer sentences and gives examples, but sentence structures are often incomplete or joined in ways that obscure the meaning. For instance, “Moreover Subjects like physics, chemistry, and biology. There are much complicated…” separates a subject from the idea it should introduce, and “by choosing a commerce stream a student is having a less burden” has problems with articles and verb construction. Agreement and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, as in “students are more focusses” and the long final sentence beginning “But commerce stream…”. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas hard to understand. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use a mix of accurate simple and complex forms before attempting longer constructions.
