Student answer (Band 5.5)
In our contemporary society, there has been serious concern related to the major subjects of students at university. We often see that many majority of the students prefer studying, Finance, Education, IT , and business whereas there is decreasing trend in Science faculty. Majority of people believe that studying courses related to IT, Business, and Finance often open-up paths for the jobs, but I firmly believe that student should more focus on studying Sience ,so they can develope certain level of problem solving capability.
Firstly, other subjects easily provide the opportunity to grab the job, certainly after completition of course. This is because the courses like, IT, Business , and Finance are available for short period of time ,so the students can associated with an internship and develop their portfolio. For example, the students in IT course often grab an internship on their last year of course, so it can help them to find job after their graduation. This structured internship attracted many students to study IT and other course than Science.
Secondly, this trend of studying tech and other course trigger the fall in the number of smart minds that can upbring scientific sector. This is because if every student study, IT , Finance, and Business , there will be lack in scientific research which is crucial for mankind. For instance, many countries are lacking researchers. Students are free to choose their desired subjects, but They should be equally aware about their capability and the role they can provide to the humankind.
To sum up, I personally believe that we often need capable minds to bring our human civilisation toward the new era, and this is only possible through scientific approach.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both the causes and societal effects, and your position that science deserves greater attention is clear. The explanation that other courses appear attractive because they offer internships and a route into employment is relevant, as is the concern that fewer science students may weaken research. However, the effects are developed more than the causes: the essay does not explain in much detail why students perceive science as less attractive, and the societal consequences remain broad. For example, “there will be lack in scientific research” would be stronger with a specific consequence, such as slower medical or environmental advances. Develop each main point with a clear explanation and a concrete example to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a concluding paragraph. The ideas generally progress from employment-related reasons to the consequences for research, so the reader can follow the overall argument. Some connections are less clear or feel mechanical, however. The first body paragraph focuses on internships, while the second shifts to the effects without a sufficiently explicit link between the two. Phrases such as “This is because” are repeated, and “To sum up” introduces a conclusion that mostly restates the position rather than drawing the causes and effects together. Use clearer links between claims and consequences, and make references such as “this trend” more precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “internship,” “portfolio,” “scientific research,” and “scientific sector,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “contemporary society” and “human civilisation.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, sometimes making the meaning less clear: “major subjects of students,” “grab the job,” and “upbring scientific sector” are examples. Spelling errors such as “Sience,” “develope,” and “completition” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, natural combinations—for example, “secure employment” and “strengthen the scientific sector”—and check spelling and word forms during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a reason clause in “This is because…” and a conditional structure beginning “if every student study…”. The overall meaning is usually understandable, but errors in agreement, articles, sentence construction, and punctuation occur across the response. For example, “many majority of the students” is not a valid construction, “student should more focus” has an incorrect word order, and “if every student study” needs subject–verb agreement. Commas and spaces around punctuation are also inconsistent. Practise building accurate complex sentences, especially with conditionals and subordinate clauses, and check each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb before adding more complexity.
