Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both parts of the question by identifying demanding study and competition for science-related jobs as causes, then discussing effects on innovation and the economy. These points are relevant, but the explanation is limited and sometimes unclear. For example, the claim that competition for highly paid science jobs causes students to lose interest is not fully explained, and it seems to conflict with the idea that students are choosing not to study science. The effects are also asserted rather than supported with a specific example or a clear explanation of how fewer graduates would affect society. Develop each cause-and-effect link more carefully and make the relationship between your ideas consistent.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, one on effects, and a conclusion. This gives the reader an overall route through the answer, and signposts such as “Moreover” and “Furthermore” help connect points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow. The discussion of competition shifts from students being attracted to science jobs to losing interest, without clearly explaining the connection. Some linking phrases are mechanical, and the conclusion repeats the main effects rather than drawing the argument together. Use clearer links between each claim and its explanation, and ensure that pronouns such as “they” have an unmistakable reference.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “innovation,” “advancements,” “qualified staff,” and “highly-paid jobs,” so the main ideas can be understood. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make the writing less precise. Examples include “opting science,” “lesser invention,” “economic progression,” and “sources” where the intended meaning is unclear. Spelling slips such as “trens,” “beacuse,” and “countrey” also reduce accuracy. Build a bank of natural phrases for discussing education and society, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish between scientific research, technological development, and economic growth.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including explanations with “This is due to the fact that” and a result clause beginning “Therefore.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, sentence boundaries, and verb forms occur frequently enough to make some ideas harder to follow. For instance, “science courses offers” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “Which increases burden on them” is an incomplete sentence. In “there will be less innovation,” the construction is more controlled, but nearby sentences such as “There will be few individuals will pursue” show difficulty managing future forms. Practise building accurate clauses before combining them, and check agreement and punctuation during revision.
