Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the airport’s redevelopment and mention several relevant changes, including the larger gate area, shops, bag drop, sky train, café, ATM and car hire. This gives the reader a general sense that the future airport offers more facilities. However, the comparison is only partly developed: the key expansion from 8 to 18 gates and the change from a straight concourse to a Y-shaped layout are not clearly reported. Some details are inaccurate or unsupported, such as saying passengers use the sky train to reach their gates without explaining its central route, and describing arrivals as using it. The overview that the airport is “extremely different” is too general. Select the main structural changes and accurately compare the locations of facilities in both plans.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic overall shape: an introduction, a brief overview and descriptions of the current and future airport. It also uses simple sequencing phrases such as “Overall,” “First of all” and “last,” which help signal order. However, progression within the long body sentences is difficult to follow, and the current and future features are sometimes mixed together. For example, the sentence beginning “The now todays airpot” runs through several passenger movements without clear boundaries, while the final sentence combines arrivals, passport control, a café, an ATM and car hire. Use separate, focused paragraphs for the two plans and group details by area; clearer sentence boundaries and more precise linking would make the comparison easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant airport vocabulary, including “passport control,” “customs,” “bag drop,” “shops” and “car hire,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “airport,” “passenger” and “provide.” Some choices are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “the airport is huge,” “go to home this car” and “verify your identity,” which describes a process rather than a feature shown on the plan. Spelling errors such as “airpot” and “passnger” also reduce clarity. Build a more precise set of terms for describing locations and changes, such as “is situated,” “is relocated” and “is extended,” and check spelling and collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
There are attempts to connect ideas with longer structures, but sentence control is weak and errors frequently make the relationships between features unclear. For example, “The plans demonstrates” has subject–verb disagreement, and “the airport is now and after development is extremely different” has an incomplete, confusing structure. Articles, plurals and verb forms are also often missing or incorrect, as in “the arrivals passenger enter” and “the airport is provide.” Punctuation is limited, producing run-on sentences such as the description beginning “The now todays airpot.” Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine related information with controlled clauses. For instance: “The current concourse has eight gates, whereas the redeveloped terminal will have eighteen.”
