Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main transformation: the gate area expands from 8 to 18 gates, a sky train is introduced, and shops and additional passenger facilities are added. You also note that security and passport/customs areas remain unchanged, which is a relevant comparison. However, some details are unclear or inaccurate: the walkway is not described as connecting only three gates, and the check-in counter is moved to the inner wall rather than replaced by the bag-drop facility. The overview that the redevelopment adds gates and facilities is sound, but the response gives limited detail about the Y-shaped concourse and the changed locations of facilities. More precise descriptions of these key changes would make the account more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure, moving from the existing layout to the redevelopment and ending with a brief overview. Sequencing phrases such as “First of all,” “Furthermore,” and “Moreover” help signal progression, and the reader can generally follow the comparisons. However, the first paragraph combines several locations and changes in a way that makes relationships difficult to track, while “Secondly” does not clearly introduce a distinct point. Some references, such as “the developed side” and “they,” are vague, and the final overview repeats the general idea of added facilities without consolidating the main changes. Grouping the information by terminal area and then describing the expanded concourse would create clearer progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “gates,” “sky train,” “shops,” “bag drop,” “ATM,” and “car hire,” so the main features are identifiable. However, the range and precision are limited, and several word choices or spelling errors make parts of the description harder to understand, such as “increment of facilities,” “remained untuched,” and “moving some old facilities.” Repeated use of “facilities” also makes the account less specific. Aim for accurate map-description language, including terms for location and change, and check spelling carefully. For example, distinguish between a facility being added, relocated, or retained, rather than describing all changes generally as additions.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including comparisons introduced by “while” and “whereas,” and most of the intended meaning can be understood. However, some sentence structures are faulty or incomplete, for example, “while in the devolepd side the are 18 gates which connects with the sky train in the center.” There are also problems with articles, agreement, and verb forms in phrases such as “there is walkway,” “they have added new facilities,” and “security … are remained.” Punctuation and spacing around commas and full stops are inconsistent. Practise building clear sentences with a subject and verb, and use consistent present-tense forms to describe the plans.
