Student answer (Band 6.0)

These diagrams show two diffrent structure of an air port. First one shows the current architecture and the second one shows how it would be looking after re-construction in preceding year.

Overall, the structure of first half of the buliding remained almost the same in both bulidings despite, some addition in the redeveloped airport. The second half of the building after re-construction, was changed in terms of desing, area and gates.

Compairing, in both current and future planned airport the exit for arrival and entrace for departure remained same. However, there were some changes in the planned map. For the sake of convinience of pasenger cafes

will be added in both arrival and departure units. Moreover, the luggage drop counter will be added at the entrance opposite to check-in counter, and just beside the cafe as there is no bag drop counter in the current map.Next section will be reamined the same as current. Furthermore, after the security and passport check unit, shops are planned for passenger to buy stuff at the left after security clearence.

In the second half of the airport, there will be very noticeable changes for costumer and mostly older peoples. It is planned to start a sky train for passenger's esase from shops to coarding gates , Meanwhile, there is only a walkway in current structure. Moreover, the number of gates are increased to manage rush efficently there would be 10 more gates for passenger and satff convinience as currently there are only 8 gates.

When exiting the planned airport , there would be an ATM and a cab hire, as both of facilities are missing currently .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You identify the main contrast between the existing and proposed airport, especially the expansion from 8 to 18 gates and the addition of a sky train, shops, bag drop, ATM and car hire. The overview also recognises that the terminal changes less than the concourse. These points address the task well, and the gate increase is accurately quantified. However, some details are imprecise or unsupported: the first half does not remain “almost the same,” since check-in moves and bag drop and cafés are added or relocated. The claim that the train runs “from shops to boarding gates” is not shown; it runs along the concourse stem. More precise descriptions of the changed terminal layout and the Y-shaped concourse would make the account more complete and developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for the terminal and the concourse or arrival facilities. This gives the reader a generally coherent route through the comparison. Linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “Furthermore” help connect related points, although their repeated use sometimes makes the progression feel mechanical. Some references are unclear, particularly “Next section will be reamined the same,” which does not specify which area is meant, and “the first half” and “second half” are less precise than naming the terminal and concourse. Grouping all changes by location and using clearer references would strengthen the flow and make comparisons easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant airport vocabulary, including “check-in counter,” “bag drop counter,” “gates,” “sky train,” and “passport check,” so the topic is generally clear. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “redeveloped airport” and “noticeable changes.” However, spelling errors are frequent, including “diffrent,” “buliding,” “Compairing,” and “convinience,” and several word choices or collocations are awkward: “two different structure,” “coarding gates,” and “cab hire.” “Older peoples” is also an unsuitable description of passengers and is not supported by the map. More accurate spelling and natural map-description phrases would improve precision and reduce distraction.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of simple statements and longer sentences with subordinate clauses, for example, “Moreover, the number of gates are increased to manage rush efficiently…” This shows some range, but control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Examples include subject–verb agreement in “the number of gates are increased,” tense and phrasing in “how it would be looking,” and the incomplete or unclear construction “Next section will be reamined the same as current.” Commas also interrupt sentences in places, as in “despite, some addition.” Work on consistent future forms for planned changes, agreement with singular subjects, articles, and sentence boundaries; these would make your comparisons clearer.
