The plans below show the site of an airport now and how it will look after redevelopment next year.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 7.5)

The plans given illustrate the location of an airport currently and how it will look after reconstruction next year.

Overall, it can be noticed that after redevelopment, the size of the airport and the number of services provided will increase. Moreover, the walkway will be replaced by sky train while the number of gates will be raised from 8 to 18.

First of all, it can be noticed that the number of entrances for both the departures and arrivals will be doubled. Furthermore, the cafe will be shifted from the right side of the departure to the left side and a new cafe will be inaugurated in the arrivals hall as well. Additionally, a car hire booth and an ATM will be installed in the same hall.

In addition, it can be observed that a new aisle will be added where passengers can drop their bags. However, here will be no change in the vicinity of the security, the passport control, and the customs department. Moving further, some shops will be constructed near the security department as well.
