Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response covers the main features of the airport redevelopment, including the increase in gates, the addition of shops, and the expansion of arrival/departure facilities. However, the description is somewhat repetitive and lacks a clear overview or summary of the most significant changes. The information is presented in a slightly disjointed manner, and some details, such as the claim that staff and security regulations remain the same, are not clearly supported by the visual data provided. To improve, ensure that the overview highlights the most striking transformations, such as the significant increase in capacity and the addition of new passenger amenities, rather than listing features in a fragmented way.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as the repetitive use of 'In addition', 'Moreover', and 'To recapitulate'. The progression of ideas within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the transition between facility types is abrupt. Referencing is occasionally confusing, such as the phrase 'which was before only four where not facilty is available', which makes it difficult to track the comparison between the current and future states. Improving the variety and precision of linking words would enhance the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'rendered layout representation' and 'addition facilities'. The student relies on basic descriptors like 'happy, joyful and comfortable' to describe the airport experience, which is not appropriate for a formal report. Spelling errors, such as 'derpartute', 'Atm', and 'adittion', are present. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise terminology related to infrastructure and development, such as 'expanded capacity', 'integrated amenities', or 'structural modifications', while ensuring accurate spelling.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include incorrect verb tenses (e.g., 'will taken' instead of 'will take place'), subject-verb agreement errors (e.g., 'the biggest change... were the gates'), and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'which should gave a adittion'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on consistent tense usage and subject-verb agreement would significantly improve the quality of the sentences.
