Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the task by identifying the main features of the airport redevelopment. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial and lacks a clear, professional tone. While you mention the addition of a sky train and new facilities like a cafe and ATM, the description is fragmented. The summary is incomplete, as the text ends abruptly mid-sentence ('so, the d'). To improve, ensure you provide a more structured overview that highlights the most significant changes rather than listing them in a repetitive manner. You should also avoid subjective commentary, such as stating the development is 'beneficial for migrants,' as the task requires an objective report of the visual data provided.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is organised into paragraphs, but the flow of information is often disjointed. While you use some cohesive devices like 'moreover' and 'whereas,' their usage is sometimes mechanical or inaccurate. The progression of ideas is hindered by the abrupt ending of the text, which leaves the final point unfinished. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words to connect your observations more smoothly. Ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that your ideas follow a logical sequence, such as grouping changes by area (e.g., departures vs. arrivals) rather than listing them randomly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'look,' 'things,' and 'places.' There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'migrants' (which is likely inaccurate in this context) and 'in recent condition.' The phrasing 'the after development will be very beneficial' is not appropriate for an academic report. To achieve a higher band, you should incorporate more precise vocabulary related to maps and changes, such as 'expanded,' 'transformed,' 'relocated,' or 'integrated.' Avoid informal language and focus on using terminology that accurately describes the spatial changes shown in the diagrams.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the shops is absent'), incorrect article usage, and awkward sentence structures. Many sentences are simple, and attempts at more complex structures often result in errors, such as 'the present condition describe that.' Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary symbols like '&' used instead of 'and.' To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and proofreading for common errors like pluralisation and article usage. Aim to vary your sentence length and structure to demonstrate better control.
