IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The plans below show the site of an airport now and how it will look after redevelopment next year.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

SOUTHWEST AIRPORT

Student answer (Band 7.0)

The two plots compare the layout of an airport at current and after it rebuilt next year.

Overall, the airdrome will undergo significant transformation. At present time, it offers limited facilities while after development it provides numerous amenities such as numbers of gates will be more than double, luggage drop area, ATM, sky trains and many mores.

In contemporary plan, there are eight gates in North direction and all are built in rectangular shape. There is a walkway facility for people. The departures ways are on the left-hand side while arrivals on the right-hand side. Further, check-in area is located on West of departure gate and refreshment area is opposite to check-in place.

However, there are several major changes have been carried out. The sky train is introduced and the numbers of gates will increased to 18. Shops are going to be installed after security passport control. In departure area, bag drop, check-in and cafe will be developed. Moreover, Car hiring facility is going to be provided to arrivals' at right corner of arrival entrance and ATM and cafe are located before passport control customs.
