Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response identifies the main features of the redevelopment, such as the increase in gates and the addition of the sky train and new shops. However, the overview is weak and lacks a clear summary of the most significant changes. The description of the layout is somewhat confusing, particularly the attempt to describe the 'Y' shape and the specific locations of shops and cafes. The response is incomplete, as it cuts off abruptly at the end ('...then a A'), failing to provide a finished summary of the arrival area. This lack of completion and the somewhat disorganized reporting of features limit the score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response lacks clear paragraphing, which makes it difficult to follow the progression of information. While there is an attempt to organize the information by 'starting with' and 'on arrival side', the cohesive devices are used mechanically and sometimes incorrectly. Referencing is often unclear, such as when referring to 'the airport structure' or 'the shape of terminal'. The abrupt ending significantly disrupts the flow and coherence of the text, as the final sentence is incomplete and lacks a logical conclusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive. There are several spelling errors, such as 'sighnificent', 'chande', 'pasengers', 'layoout', 'baggege', and 'comntrol', which distract the reader. The range of vocabulary is limited to simple descriptive terms. While the student attempts to use specific terminology like 'redevelopment', 'terminals', and 'passport control', the overall control is insufficient to convey information with precision. The frequent spelling mistakes and limited word choice prevent the response from reaching a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors, including missing articles ('in airports map', 'in frontend of'), incorrect verb forms, and punctuation issues. Sentence structures are often fragmented or run-on, such as 'starting with airport structure are is no sighnificent chande in layout as only change is in terminals with increased gates...'. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the errors in basic grammar and sentence construction are persistent throughout the text, which occasionally impedes the reader's understanding.
