Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response attempts to describe the airport plans, but it fails to clearly identify the main features or provide meaningful comparisons. The description of the 'before' and 'after' states is confusing and lacks accuracy, particularly regarding the layout and the specific changes mentioned (e.g., the mention of '18 parts' is not clearly supported by the visual data). The overview is missing, and the information provided is fragmented, making it difficult for the reader to grasp the overall transformation. To improve, you must focus on identifying the key changes—such as the expansion of the terminal, the addition of new facilities like the sky train and car hire, and the relocation of existing services—rather than listing individual components in a disjointed manner.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay lacks logical progression. While there is an attempt to use paragraphing, the ideas within the paragraphs are not linked effectively. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, such as the repetitive use of 'and' and 'in' to connect unrelated clauses. The transition between the 'before' and 'after' sections is abrupt, and the lack of clear referencing makes it difficult to follow the spatial layout of the airport. To improve, you should use linking words like 'whereas', 'in contrast', or 'subsequently' to guide the reader through the changes and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is very limited and often inaccurate, which frequently impedes communication. Phrases like 'hudge mount' (huge amount) and 'passport controller custom' demonstrate a lack of control over basic collocations and spelling. The response relies on repetitive and simple vocabulary, failing to use the specific terminology required for describing maps or diagrams (e.g., 'terminal', 'layout', 'extension', 'relocated'). To improve, you should learn and apply topic-specific vocabulary related to describing changes in maps, such as 'expanded', 'constructed', 'demolished', and 'modernised', and focus on improving your spelling and word choice accuracy.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that make the text difficult to understand. There are significant issues with sentence structure, subject-verb agreement, and article usage (e.g., 'The diagram show the illustrate', 'The after developments of Southwest airport in 18 blocks'). Most sentences are fragmented or lack a clear subject and verb. There is no evidence of complex sentence structures. To improve, you need to focus on basic sentence construction—ensuring every sentence has a clear subject, verb, and object—and work on using articles and prepositions correctly. Practising simple, error-free sentences is a necessary first step before attempting more complex structures.
