Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which negatively impacts the score. While you have identified some key features of the airport redevelopment, such as the addition of the sky train and bag drop areas, the summary is incomplete. Several areas of the map are not clearly described, and the comparison between the 'now' and 'next year' states is hindered by unclear phrasing. To improve, ensure you provide a more comprehensive overview of all major changes and ensure the response meets the minimum length requirement to allow for full development of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is often disrupted by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Overall' and 'while', the transitions between sentences are often mechanical or unclear. For example, the sentence 'As well as, there was emply in areas of arrivals' lacks clarity and does not connect well to the previous paragraph. To improve, focus on using a wider range of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus that guides the reader through the information logically.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on basic terms. There are several instances of incorrect word choice and spelling errors, such as 'developmet', 'becomed', and 'emply'. You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'departures', 'arrivals', and 'redevelopment', but the lack of precision makes it difficult to convey the information accurately. To improve, work on expanding your range of vocabulary related to describing changes and locations, and pay closer attention to spelling and word forms to ensure your writing is more professional and accurate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'map introduce', 'places is remain'), article usage, and tense consistency (e.g., 'was relocate', 'was introduce'). The sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors that make the meaning difficult to follow. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, particularly subject-verb agreement and the correct use of passive voice, which is essential for describing map changes. Proofreading for basic errors is also highly recommended.
