The plans below show the site of an airport now and how it will look after redevelopment next year.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
SOUTHWEST AIRPORT
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The given plans illustrates the site of an airport at present and how it will look after redevelopment.
Overall, huge development in the site of an airport will be done. Numbers of facilities are added. The departures, arrivals and the gates will be extended adding many facilities such as bag drop, cafe ,ATM and car hire.
At present, the site of the airport is quite small. The entering area is divided into two section, security passport control center at the left and passport control customs at the right. There is a check-in and a cafe at the left while the right side is empty. There are also 8 gates present with two walkway.
After redevelopment, the layout of the airport will be expanded increasing the number of gates from 8 to 18 and by replacing walkway with sky train. The departure section will contain additional facilities such as bag drop area, while the arrival section will have new facilities like cafe, ATM and a car hire. Also the departure and arrival area will have two entering area making it more convenient .
