Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers the main features of the airport plans, identifying key changes such as the addition of gates, the sky train, and new facilities. However, the description is somewhat informal and lacks precision in reporting data. For instance, stating 'the number of gates where 8 only' is grammatically awkward and lacks clarity. While the main trends are identified, the comparison between the two plans could be more analytical. The overview is present but could be more effectively integrated to highlight the most significant transformations, such as the shift from a basic layout to a more modern, passenger-focused facility.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression from the current state to the future development. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate. Phrases like 'the current airport is quite too small by seeing the increasing of population' disrupt the flow. While there is an attempt to use transition words like 'However' and 'Furthermore', the connection between sentences is sometimes weak, and the referencing of specific locations on the map is not always clear, making the spatial description feel a bit disjointed.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'current look', 're-development look', and 'the increasing of population'. The student relies on basic descriptors and struggles with collocations, such as 'bag drop stand have installed' instead of 'a bag drop area has been installed'. To improve, the student should focus on using more precise terminology related to maps and diagrams, such as 'layout', 'configuration', 'extended', and 'integrated'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('Cafe have been doubled'), incorrect verb tenses ('a bag drop stand have installed'), and awkward sentence construction ('The elder people who are not able to walk or disabled people keeping them in mind'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the overall control of grammar is inconsistent. The student needs to focus on basic sentence structure and ensuring that subjects and verbs agree, as well as refining the use of passive voice for describing changes.
