Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers the main features of the airport redevelopment, including the addition of the Sky Train, increased gate numbers, and new amenities. You successfully identify the areas that remain unchanged, such as security and customs. However, the overview is somewhat weak; it focuses on the 'comfort' of passengers rather than summarizing the physical transformation of the site. To improve, ensure the overview highlights the most significant spatial changes, such as the expansion of the terminal building and the reconfiguration of the gate layout. While you mention the increase from 8 to 18 gates, more precise comparisons between the 'now' and 'next year' layouts would strengthen the response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs detailing specific changes. You use some cohesive devices like 'Additionally' and 'Moreover' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as the opening sentence which lacks grammatical cohesion. The transition between the description of the gates and the amenities is functional but could be smoother. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear thematic focus, avoiding the slight repetition of information regarding the gates.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'redevelopment', 'transition', and 'checkpoint'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'transcends into more modern and comfort' (should be 'becomes more modern and comfortable') and 'ease the comfort' (which is redundant). The use of 'in ease of travelling' is also non-standard. To improve, focus on using adjectives and nouns correctly and avoid repeating simple words. Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise descriptive terms for spatial changes would be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. For example, 'in next year' should be 'next year', and 'the new plan consist of' should be 'consists of'. There are also punctuation errors, such as the unnecessary comma in 'Cafes and, ATM'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the content, they occur frequently enough to limit the score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and preposition usage to improve your accuracy.
