Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response covers the main features of the airport redevelopment, including the expansion of gates, the addition of amenities, and the reconfiguration of the terminal layout. However, the description is somewhat disorganized and lacks a clear overview of the most significant changes. While you identify the increase in gates and the addition of new facilities, the reporting of spatial information is occasionally confusing, such as the description of the 'Y' shape gates. To improve, ensure you group information logically—perhaps by terminal changes versus airside expansion—and provide a more cohesive summary of the overall transformation in the introduction or overview.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is hindered by awkward transitions and repetitive phrasing. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'furthermore', they are sometimes used incorrectly or placed awkwardly. The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the spatial changes on the map. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks a smooth progression of ideas. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear thematic focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate to describe the task, but there are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'extented', 'cgeck', 'amentities', 'gats', 'pssengars') that distract the reader. You attempt to use specific terminology related to airport facilities, which is good, but the range is limited and repetitive. To reach a higher band, you should focus on accuracy in spelling and try to incorporate more precise collocations, such as 'undergo redevelopment' or 'the installation of new facilities', rather than relying on simple verbs like 'added' or 'replaced'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'maps illustrates', 'cafe will replaced'), missing articles, and incorrect verb tenses. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences and missing spaces after commas. While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and punctuation limit the score. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage would help improve your accuracy.
