Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers the main features of the airport plans, identifying key changes such as the terminal extension, new gates, and additional services. However, the description is somewhat mechanical and lacks a cohesive comparison between the two maps. While the main features are identified, the analysis could be more insightful by grouping the changes more logically (e.g., infrastructure vs. passenger services). The overview is present but could be more effectively integrated to highlight the most significant transformation, which is the expansion of the terminal and the increase in capacity. Overall, the response addresses the requirements but lacks the depth of analysis expected for a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is repetitive and somewhat simplistic. For instance, the frequent use of 'Also' at the beginning of sentences makes the flow feel mechanical. There is a lack of varied linking words or phrases to connect ideas within and between paragraphs. While the progression of information from the current state to the future state is logical, the transitions between these sections could be smoother to improve the overall readability and coherence of the report.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but remains quite basic. There are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'departure are' (instead of 'departure area') and 'serval' (spelling error for 'several'). The range of vocabulary is limited to the information provided in the prompt, with little attempt to use more sophisticated or precise terminology to describe the changes (e.g., 'extended', 'constructed', 'introduced'). To improve, the student should aim to use a wider range of synonyms and more precise descriptive language to convey the spatial changes in the airport layout.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response uses a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'more gates from the now' (awkward phrasing), 'in the left side' (preposition error), and 'The number of new gates will be constructed' (incorrect verb usage). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor errors throughout. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to suggest a lack of control over more complex grammatical forms. Increasing the variety of sentence structures while focusing on accuracy would significantly improve this score.
