Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the airport plans, identifying key changes such as the expansion of gates and the introduction of new amenities. However, the description is somewhat mechanical and lacks a clear, analytical overview. While the main features are identified, the comparison between the 'present' and 'future' states is occasionally confusing due to imprecise language. For instance, the description of the North section is a bit cluttered, and the distinction between the two timeframes could be more sharply defined. To improve, ensure that the overview highlights the most significant trends, such as the overall expansion and modernization of facilities, rather than just listing individual changes.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is organised into paragraphs, but the flow of ideas is often hindered by repetitive and awkward transitions. Phrases like 'Whilst' and 'Moreover' are used frequently but sometimes incorrectly, which makes the progression feel mechanical rather than logical. The referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly when describing the movement of facilities from one area to another. The use of cohesive devices is present but lacks the flexibility required for a higher band. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the readability and logical flow of the report.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. There are several spelling errors, such as 'declopment', 'chanhes', and 'cutoms', which distract the reader. The range of vocabulary is limited, relying on simple descriptors like 'major change' or 'lower side'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise terminology related to maps and diagrams, such as 'relocated', 'transformed', 'expanded', or 'situated'. Additionally, focus on improving accuracy in spelling and word choice to ensure that your descriptions are professional and clear.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that impede clarity. Issues include missing articles ('at present airport'), incorrect verb forms ('will be double'), and awkward phrasing ('major development will constructed'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary commas and missing spaces after punctuation marks. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic sentence construction prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement, correct tense usage for future predictions, and basic sentence punctuation will lead to significant improvement.
