Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response attempts to describe the airport plans but fails to accurately report the main features. The description of the 'current' airport is factually confusing, as it lists facilities like a 'dinning area' and 'check-in office' that are not present in the 'now' diagram. Furthermore, the final paragraph introduces information that is not supported by the provided visual data, such as 'security' and 'passport check service'. The response lacks a clear overview and fails to make meaningful comparisons between the two stages. To improve, you must strictly adhere to the information provided in the diagrams and ensure your summary highlights the most significant changes, such as the expansion of the terminal and the addition of new transport links.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The transition between the 'now' and 'future' stages is disjointed, and the final paragraph seems to contradict or repeat information in a confusing manner. Cohesive devices are used in a very mechanical and repetitive way, such as the frequent use of 'in which there is'. Referencing is often unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between the two plans. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, distinct purpose that contributes to the overall summary.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and contains several errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'rosources' instead of 'resources', 'dinning' instead of 'dining', and 'avalible' instead of 'available'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to describe the features of a map or plan effectively. You rely heavily on basic descriptors like 'big' and 'normal'. To reach a higher band, you should learn specific vocabulary related to describing changes in diagrams, such as 'expanded', 'constructed', 'relocated', or 'integrated', and pay closer attention to the correct spelling of common words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('This plan give us', 'airport design in a good way') and incorrect verb tenses. Sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors that can cause some difficulty for the reader. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods and commas. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that your subjects and verbs agree, and practicing the use of appropriate tenses when describing future developments versus current states.
