Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response provides a clear overview of the changes, identifying the main features such as the addition of new services and the expansion of the runway capacity. However, the description of the layout is somewhat imprecise. For instance, stating there are '4 more services' is a bit vague, and the mention of 'almost double of previous 8 that is now 18' is confusingly phrased. To reach a higher band, you should focus on more precise reporting of the spatial changes and ensure that the comparison between the 'now' and 'future' states is clearly articulated without ambiguity.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression from the overview to the specific details. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and limited. Phrases like 'Overall' are used twice in a short text, which feels repetitive. Additionally, the transition between the description of the facilities and the runway expansion could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally into the next would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You rely on general terms like 'services' and 'facilities' rather than more specific terminology related to airport infrastructure. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'services to be availed by passengers' and 'purposed development' (which should be 'proposed'). To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary and ensure that your word choices are natural and accurate in the context of describing a map or plan.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'there will be new look of airport' (missing articles), 'Before development airport have' (tense inconsistency), and 'in proper way' (missing article). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. Focusing on subject-verb agreement, the correct use of articles, and consistent verb tenses will help you achieve a higher score in this criterion.
