Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have successfully identified the main features of the airport redevelopment, including the expansion of gates, the introduction of the sky train, and the relocation of facilities. You provided a clear overview and supported your points with specific details from the maps. However, the response could be improved by more precise comparisons between the 'now' and 'next year' states. For instance, describing the specific location of the new facilities (ATM, car hire) more clearly relative to existing structures would enhance the report. Overall, you have covered all parts of the task well, providing a clear and logical summary of the changes.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is logically organized, with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs that separate the current layout from the future plans. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Regarding', 'Meanwhile', and 'Turning to', to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the paragraphing could be improved by ensuring each paragraph has a more unified focus. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, such as 'opposite site of the map', which could be more specific. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear and easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'redevelopment', 'modernized', 'expanded', and 'converted'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'square motion' (which is unclear) and 'beg drop' (a spelling error for 'bag drop'). You also repeat 'passport control' unnecessarily. To reach a higher band, try to use more precise descriptive language for spatial relationships and avoid repetitive phrasing. Despite these minor issues, the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the intended meaning clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'The gates will be expanded and redesigned with the Y-shaped in the north part of the map.' There are several grammatical errors, including missing articles ('the' ATM), subject-verb agreement issues ('offices will remained unchanged'), and awkward phrasing ('there 1 to 8 eight gates are located'). While these errors are noticeable, they do not significantly impede communication. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and ensuring consistent verb tense usage when describing future changes.
