Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the task but fails to provide a clear overview or a structured comparison of the main features. While it mentions some changes, it lacks a summary of the most significant developments, such as the expansion of the terminal or the addition of new infrastructure. The description is overly simplistic and relies on subjective commentary (e.g., 'the plan after development is very good'), which is inappropriate for an Academic Task 1 report. To improve, you must focus on objective reporting of the visual data rather than personal opinion and ensure that the key trends are highlighted in an introductory overview.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The use of cohesive devices is repetitive and sometimes mechanical, such as the frequent use of 'there is' and 'moreover'. Referencing is often unclear, and the transition between the description of the current state and the future state lacks a sophisticated link. The structure is somewhat fragmented, and the overall flow would benefit from more varied linking words and a more cohesive approach to comparing the two maps.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying heavily on basic structures like 'there is' and 'there are'. There are several spelling errors (e.g., 'enterance', 'avalible') and word choice issues, such as 'condition of Southwest airport is look like'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to describe the spatial changes effectively. To achieve a higher band, you should incorporate more precise terminology related to maps and development, such as 'expanded', 'relocated', 'constructed', or 'transformed'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response consists mainly of simple sentence structures with frequent grammatical errors. Issues include incorrect verb forms ('is look like'), missing articles, and punctuation errors. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, which limits the grammatical range. The errors are frequent and occasionally make the meaning slightly difficult to follow, although the general intent remains clear. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions would significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
