Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response covers the main features of the airport redevelopment, such as the gate expansion and the addition of the sky train. However, the description of the current layout is somewhat inaccurate and confusing; for instance, the claim that 'car hire is situated bottom currently connects cafe with ATM' is unclear and does not accurately reflect the visual information provided. While the overview is clear, the report lacks sufficient detail regarding the spatial relationships between the new and old facilities. To improve, ensure that all descriptions of location are precise and that the comparison between the 'before' and 'after' states is logically structured and factually grounded in the provided diagram.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or misused. For example, the sentence 'In addition, walkway will remain, although sky train' is grammatically incomplete and lacks a clear logical connection. The transition between the current layout and the future redevelopment is somewhat abrupt. While there is an attempt to use linking words like 'Furthermore' and 'In addition', the flow is frequently interrupted by awkward phrasing and missing subjects, which hinders the overall progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The range of vocabulary is limited and repetitive. There are several instances of awkward word choices and missing articles, such as 'expansion of walkway' (should be 'the walkway') and 'cafe is located east-west corner'. The phrase 'are remain stable' is an incorrect collocation. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the basic meaning, it lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. To improve, focus on using appropriate articles, prepositions, and more descriptive verbs to explain the changes, such as 'relocated', 'extended', or 'integrated'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are consistent issues with article usage ('the' is often omitted), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure. For example, 'several new facilities for passengers are newly install' should be 'are being newly installed'. The sentence 'Although secuirity, passport control, customs are remain stable' is a fragment and contains a spelling error. While simple sentences are generally understandable, the attempts at more complex structures often result in errors. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for missing verbs and articles will significantly improve the accuracy.
