The plans below show the site of an airport now and how it will look after redevelopment next year.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
SOUTHWEST AIRPORT
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The layout illustrates the site of Southwest airport at present and how it will look after reconstruction next year.
Starting from the departures area, it has a one entrance and straight ahead there is a security and passport control area. Also there is a check-in area on the left and opposite to check-in there is a cafe. In the upcoming year, one more entrance will be added in the departure section as well as a cafe will be relocated to the south west side of the corner. Check-in area will be replaced by Bag drop and it will be moved to the opposite side. Shops will be built behind the security and passport control.
As for Arrivals section, there is no amenities available at present. After entrance there is a passport control and customs section located in the straight ahead. But in the redevelopment plan a cafe will be opened on the north east side of the corner. Beside to it ATM will be provided. A little section will be added in the south east corner for Care hire service.
There are 8 gates in the present plan and a walk away area on the left. After redevelopment in the next year, There will be 18 gates and a sky train area will be constructed in the center of gates section.
To sum up, it would be quite interesting to note that, there will be significant changes in the southwest airport.
