The plans below show the site of an airport now and how it will look after redevelopment next year.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

SOUTHWEST AIRPORT

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The maps illustrate the future redevelopment of an airport between today and next year.

Overall, the airport will be undergone significant redevelopment, with original feature being removed or replaced. Recreational and commerical facilities will be added including ATM, bag drop, sky train and car hire while check-in, passport control customs, security passport control, arrivals and departures would be remained at the same location.

Firstly, an elevator 8 gates will be modified into 18 gates, In addition, an ATM, Sky train, Car hire and Bag drop factilities will be introduced in the next year. Moreover, In the second floor, passport control customs will be remained constant at the same location. New shops will be introduced in the 3rd floor of the airport while security passport control would be remained at same location. Furthermore, departures and arrivals will be also stayed at same place. A walkway facility will be replaced by the sky train
