The plans below show the site of an airport now and how it will look after redevelopment next year.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
SOUTHWEST AIRPORT
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The maps illustrate the site of an airport today and how it look in the future after reconstruction next year.
Overall, the airport now and next year underwent several significant changes. Several facilites will be added, several placed will be expanded and relocated. While, security passport control, passport control customs, departures and arrivals remain unchanged.
Before redevelopment, in departures area there are two features, Check in place is located in the west and cafe is located in east site. Not only that but there is security passport control. In arrivals section, there is only passport control customs. The gates involved eight gates and followed by walkway.
Following redevelopment, there will be new furnitures in departures site. Bag drop will be builted in west area on previous place of Check in. Check in will be relocated in the east side, while cafe will relocated as well near the departure gate. Shops will be constructed in the middle between security passport control and gate section.
In Arrival site will be added three new features, consists, car hire will be added on the right corner of the arrivals gate. Cafe will be placed on the right corner before passport control customs. Moreover, ATM will be added between cafe and car hire. Gates will be improve become 18 gates and railway will be replaced by sky train. However, security passport control, passport control customs, departures and arrivals remain unchanged.
