The plans below show the site of an airport now and how it will look after redevelopment next year.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
SOUTHWEST AIRPORT
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The two layout plans illustrate the comparison between the original plan and the developed plan of southwest airport.
Overall, the airport undergone various changes including the introduction of wide range of facilities and repositioning of existing facilities such as cafe, check in desk. The major development occured in the walkway, along with the construction of new gates and sky train.
Firstly, The walkway area subjected to major structural change with the replacement of 8 gates to 18 gates, along with the construction of sky train. Moreover, new shops are introduced just before the sky train, along with the repositioning of check-in counter and cafe in the security passport control section. Futhermore, Bag drop facility also added in this section.
On the other hand, new cafe and atm is placed in the passport control custom section, along with the construction of new space for car hire. The number of gates for arrivals and departure altered from one gate each to two gates each respectively.
