Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response covers the main changes between the two plans, noting the expansion of the gates, the addition of the sky train, and new facilities such as the car hire, ATM, and shops. However, the overview is somewhat weak, and some details are slightly inaccurate or confusingly expressed (e.g., describing gates as 'entrance and exit' or misinterpreting the positioning of certain amenities). While it addresses the general task requirements by reporting key spatial changes and comparisons, the lack of a clear, cohesive introductory overview paragraph keeps this score at Band 5.5.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay is divided into three short paragraphs, but the logical flow and progression between ideas are occasionally disjointed. Transitions between the current layout and the proposed changes are abrupt. Cohesive devices are used minimally and sometimes inappropriately (e.g., 'Currently, There is...', 'Similarly...'). Paragraphing is also erratic, with the second paragraph attempting to cover too many disparate changes without clear thematic grouping. Referencing is occasionally unclear, which disrupts readability.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for a basic description of the maps, featuring words like 'upgrade', 'designated', 'essentials', and 'walkway'. However, there are notable word choice and collocation issues ('sitemap' instead of 'plans' or 'layout', 'upgradation' instead of 'upgrading' or 'redevelopment', 'passangers' with a spelling error). Attempts at less common vocabulary are limited and sometimes inaccurate, resulting in a performance that sits firmly at Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar and punctuation is inconsistent. There are several grammatical errors and awkward phrasings, such as 'which is in plan to be upgraded', 'it would be have a separate section', and 'passanger have to walk a lot'. Punctuation is also neglected in places, such as missing periods at the ends of sentences and capitalization errors ('passangers', 'passanger'). These frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader.
