The plans below show the site of an airport now and how it will look after redevelopment next year.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

SOUTHWEST AIRPORT

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The maps illustrate the existing an airport site and how it expected to look after redevelopment next year.

Overall, an airport was more modernizied after restoration, with the several changes such as introdution of ATM machine, new check in area, addition of new gates or more.

Currently, the airport has two gates, departures and arrivals halls. The deapartures hall contained check-in area and cafe, the seurity passport control zone is located above the hall. While, the arrivals gate only has the passports control customs region. Additionally, airport has a eight gates accessieble by a walkway.

After redevelopment, the airport has expanded its number of gates from eight to eighteen, which will be connected by a sky train instead of walkway. Moreover, the check in will be area relocated to the left side of departure hall and bag facility will be added on the right side. In addition, more facilities for the passengers such as, second cafe, ATM machines and car hire services will also be introduced.
