The plans below show the site of an airport now and how it will look after redevelopment next year.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
SOUTHWEST AIRPORT
Student answer (Band 4.5)
As you see in the plans that shows the now ans after development airpot they are different in both side like in new airpot there is a shops section then the bad drop section and atm and also sky trian in staded of the walkway and there at arrivals you can see that the new car hire has been setup.
We all can see that the developed airpot has high number of gates that why it is good for the airpot because more number of plans then there are more number of passanger so the exchange of money will be high then the old now one.The after development airpot is better then the now airpot they have.as you can also see more passanger in the after development airpot they also know that why they created two arrivals and two departures gates for the rush hours or for more convent for the passanger.
we can see the in now airpot there is only one cafe and only at departure but in new airpot there istwo cafe for all both side like the passanger who are at the arrival they also have a cafe and the person who is departure they also have the cafe in his area.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the task only partially, presenting a rudimentary attempt to summarise the changes between the two plans. While the student identifies a few modifications, such as the addition of shops, the bag drop, an ATM, and the sky train, the information is presented in a very basic and fragmented manner. Furthermore, the description includes irrelevant personal commentary and speculation, such as arguing that more gates lead to more passengers and higher money exchange, rather than focusing purely on reporting the visual data. The position is unclear, and the overall reporting of main features and comparisons is underdeveloped, lacking a cohesive overview of how the airport expands.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The text shows some organisation, but there is no clear overall progression or logical structure. The response is divided into three dense paragraphs, but the ideas within them run together without adequate logical sequencing. Cohesive devices are either missing or misused, relying heavily on repetitive conversational phrases like 'As you see', 'We all can see', and 'we can see the in now airpot'. Paragraphing is poorly handled, and referencing is unclear throughout, making it difficult for the reader to follow a natural narrative or comparison between the two maps.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is limited and repetitive, barely meeting the minimum requirements for the task. There are noticeable errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'airpot' for airport, 'staded' instead of instead, 'bad drop' for bag drop, and 'convent' for convenience. The student attempts to use some task-specific terms like 'departures', 'arrivals', and 'gates', but the restricted lexical range and frequent spelling mistakes cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent effective communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response displays a very limited range of structures, relying mostly on run-on sentences joined by coordinating conjunctions like 'and' or 'so'. Attempts at complex sentences are faulty, resulting in disorganised structures such as 'the passanger who are at the arrival they also have a cafe'. There are frequent errors in grammar, including missing articles, incorrect prepositions, pluralisation errors like 'more number of plans', and severe punctuation issues throughout. These frequent errors cause significant difficulty for the reader.
