Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response addresses the task only partially and falls significantly short of the word count requirement, containing only 132 words instead of the minimum 150. While the writer attempts to compare the airport before and after the improvements, the overview is extremely basic and lacks a well-developed summary of the main features. Some key changes, such as the Y-shaped concourse expansion, the sky train, and new passenger facilities, are mentioned superficially, but the details are limited and under-developed. To achieve a higher band, the response must meet the minimum word count and provide a clearer, more fully extended overview of the spatial transformations shown in the plans.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response shows some basic organisation with paragraph breaks and transitional markers such as "Initially" and "Secondly". However, there is no clear overall progression, and the logical flow is disrupted by repetitive phrasing and poor integration of ideas. Cohesive devices are frequently inaccurate or used mechanically, such as the abrupt transitions between sentences. Paragraphing is attempted, but the conclusion includes personal opinion and conversational tone rather than a formal summary. To improve, the writer needs to ensure that ideas are logically sequenced with smoother, more precise cohesive links and maintain an objective academic tone throughout.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and barely adequate for the task, featuring frequent word-choice and spelling errors such as "redesinge", "tain", "alson", and "shope". While there are attempts to use topic-related terms like "departures", "arrival", and "customs", the range is restricted and repetitive. Noticeable errors in word form and collocation occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, such as "shops center ate alson including to it". To reach a higher band, the student must expand their lexical range with more precise academic vocabulary and eliminate basic spelling and word-formation errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response relies on a very limited range of sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, as seen in "As it is clearly seems that there are several sections are add in the newest version." There are frequent grammatical errors involving subject-verb agreement, verb forms, prepositions, and articles, such as "a new entrance are adding" and "Frim my prospective the newest Airport is more convenient then the oldest one". These errors persist throughout the text and cause strain for the reader. To improve, the writer needs to demonstrate better control over basic grammatical structures, accurate verb tense usage, and correct punctuation.
