Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the task partially by outlining some of the main features of the airport before and after redevelopment. However, the information presented is incomplete, and some descriptions are unclear or imprecise, such as stating that the arrivals room is blank or vaguely referring to 'many things'. While an overview is attempted, it lacks sufficient development and detail across several key areas of the plans, such as the full extent of the new gates and terminal layout modifications.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some organisation evident through basic sequencing words like 'initially', 'now', and 'after development', but the response lacks clear overall progression. Paragraphing is attempted, yet the internal flow within paragraphs is often disrupted by abrupt transitions and disjointed sentences. Cohesive devices are used mechanically and sometimes inaccurately, leading to a choppy structure that requires the reader to work harder to follow the comparison between the two time periods.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and barely adequate for the task. There is heavy repetition of basic terms like 'changes', 'things', and 'right side'. Noticeable word choice and word form errors occur, such as 'manufacture' instead of 'redevelopment' or 'construction', and 'contructe' instead of 'construct'. These lexical inaccuracies and spelling mistakes cause some difficulty for the reader and reveal a restricted range of vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response demonstrates a very limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent attempts at complex structures that contain major errors. Frequent grammatical errors are present throughout the text, including missing articles, incorrect prepositions, and faulty verb forms and agreements, such as 'walkway is end of the airport', 'gates will increase approximately 18 compair to the past', and 'costruce two major things'. These persistent errors can cause considerable difficulty and confusion for the reader.
