Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify that the airport will be redeveloped and mention several genuine additions, including shops, a bag-drop area, an ATM and car hire. However, the main changes are not reported accurately or clearly enough: the departures area is not replaced, and the arrivals area remains rather than being replaced by new facilities. The most important feature—the concourse changing from a straight layout with 8 gates to a Y-shaped layout with 18 gates—is omitted. The overview is also vague, and details such as the new check-in position and central sky train are unclear or missing. To make the summary more complete, describe the major structural expansion first, then accurately compare the terminal facilities and their locations.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic paragraph structure, moving from an introduction and overview to details about the terminal and then the remaining map. Linking phrases such as “Overall,” “In addition,” and “Moving further” show an attempt to guide the reader. However, progression is weakened by unclear references and abrupt or contradictory statements. For example, “the main enterence dived into two parts” is difficult to connect to the map, while “Many places were similar in both maps” is not supported with examples. The details would be easier to follow if grouped by area and compared consistently: first the concourse and gates, then departures, and finally arrivals. Use linking expressions to show specific changes rather than relying on general transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant map vocabulary, including “departures area,” “arrivals area,” “shops,” “bag drop,” and “car hire,” so the reader can recognise the general topic. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, word-form and spelling errors make parts difficult to understand. Examples include “an extensions significant renovation,” “newly extend area,” “in the rer,” and “shops wil be add.” Some phrases, such as “the same side,” are too imprecise to describe locations. Build a more accurate set of terms for describing plans, such as “is relocated,” “is added,” “is extended,” and “along the western wall.” Check spelling and use precise directional language to make comparisons clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a few longer sentence forms, including “Overall, there will be several changes…” and “In addition, the arrivals area…,” but most structures are simple, and errors occur frequently. Article and agreement problems appear in “an southwest airport” and “an cafe”; the phrase “an extension of airport will replace” also has an incomplete article pattern. Tense and passive forms are unreliable in “shops wil be add,” and the sentence “the main enterence dived into two parts” lacks a clear, correctly formed verb construction. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with a missing space after the full stop before “In the newly extend area.” Practise accurate present-to-future comparisons and passive forms, for example, “The concourse will be extended” and “Check-in will be moved.”
