Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main change clearly: the airport expands from 8 to 18 gates and gains a sky train, while new facilities are added. You also cover both the departures and arrivals areas, so the response addresses the task. However, some details are inaccurate or unclear. The current arrivals area does have passport control and customs, so saying it has “no single facility” is misleading. The claim that there will be two entrances for both areas is not supported by the plan, and “4 facilities” versus “7 facilities” is not a useful or clearly grounded comparison. To strengthen the report, give a more precise overview of the Y-shaped concourse and describe the specific changes to check-in, shops, and arrivals.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic, sensible structure: an introduction, an overall statement, and separate descriptions of the current and future layouts. This helps the reader follow the comparison. However, progression within the paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and several details are joined in long, loosely connected sentences, particularly the final sentence. Linking phrases such as “On the other side” do not clearly identify which area is being discussed, while “according to now building” makes the reference difficult to follow. Organise the details by airport area, using one paragraph for the current plan and one for the redevelopment, and use clear references such as “in the arrivals area” to guide the reader.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “departures,” “arrivals,” “gates,” “walkway,” “bag drop,” and “sky train,” which makes the airport layout recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making details harder to understand. For example, “arrivals appartment” and “departures apparment” are not suitable terms for areas of a terminal, and “facilities in the running year” is an awkward way to describe planned additions. Spelling errors such as “enterance,” “whould,” and “depertures” are also noticeable. Build a more precise set of location and change verbs, such as “is situated,” “will be relocated,” and “will be added.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a few longer structures, including “There is only one enterance … according to now building” and “On the other side, along with cafe facility…,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in verb forms and sentence construction are prominent: “the site of an airport look now,” “There will two enterances,” and “the atm and car hire counters also available” all need a correctly formed verb. Articles and plurals are also often missing or inaccurate, as in “a cafe facility” and “total 18 gates will established.” These problems can make the reader pause, even though the intended comparison is usually recoverable. Practise accurate present and future forms, especially “is/are” and “will be,” and check each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
