Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the broad change from a small airport layout to a larger one, and you mention the new gates, sky train and shops. However, the account is only partial: several important changes are omitted, including the Y-shaped concourse, the increase from 8 to 18 gates, the relocated check-in counter, the new bag-drop point and the café in Arrivals. Some details are inaccurate or unclear: the security and passport-control areas are not described as being in the middle, and the plan shows car hire rather than car parking. Give a clearer overview of the main structural changes, then compare the key facilities and their locations in both plans.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, an overview and separate descriptions of the current and future layouts. This gives the reader a general sense of the sequence. However, progression within paragraphs is weak, and several ideas are joined in long, unclear sentences, such as the description beginning “security and passport control have their own section.” The repeated use of “after one year” and “new” also makes the account feel mechanical. Organise details by area or by type of change, and use clear linking phrases to show location and contrast—for example, explain how check-in moves from the west wall to the inner wall beside Arrivals.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant map vocabulary, including “gates,” “security,” “passport control,” “ATM” and “sky train,” so the reader can identify several features. However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which reduces precision. For example, “the size of an airport will be enhance” is not a natural way to describe expansion, and “car parking” misidentifies the labelled facility, which is car hire. Repetition of “new,” “changes” and “area” also limits variety. Build a more precise set of terms for describing plans, such as “concourse,” “extend,” “relocate” and “facility,” and check that each label matches the visual.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt an overview and use some longer sentence forms, but control is inconsistent, and errors often make relationships between features difficult to follow. Examples include “the whole place will be underwent,” “the main changes is,” and “there will be so many changes are happen”; these show problems with verb forms and subject–verb agreement. Articles and sentence boundaries are also unreliable, as in “the site of the an airport” and the long sentence beginning “security and passport control have their own section.” Use shorter, complete sentences while checking tense and agreement, then practise accurate complex forms such as “Although the terminal remains, the concourse will be extended.”
