Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You identify the main transformation clearly: the gates increase from eight to eighteen, the concourse expands, and new facilities such as a sky train, shops, an ATM and car hire are introduced. Your overview also recognises that the redevelopment adds services for passengers. These points show good coverage of the plans, though some details are inaccurate or insufficiently precise. For example, the walkway is described as being only on the left, whereas it runs along the existing concourse, and the plans show entrances at the bottom of both terminal areas rather than one shared entrance. The location of the shops is also described vaguely as “after the Security.” To strengthen the response, compare the layout more accurately and include the relocation of check-in and the new Y-shaped concourse.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, a description of the current airport and a paragraph about the redevelopment. This gives the reader a generally coherent route through the information. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes weakened by abrupt or loosely connected statements, such as “Number of gates will be increased” following the overview’s first sentence. Some linking is mechanical or unclear, and the final paragraph introduces further changes without a clear connection to the preceding description. Improve cohesion by grouping details by area or by type of change, and use clear comparisons such as “whereas” or “in contrast.” Check spacing and punctuation around sentence boundaries, particularly in “walkway.Number” and “entrance.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant airport vocabulary, including “gates,” “departure terminal,” “arrival side,” “bag drop,” “ATM” and “car hire,” so the topic is generally clear. There are also attempts at more formal wording, such as “redevelopment” and “infrastructure.” However, several choices are imprecise or unnatural: “benefit people with its modern infrastructure,” “massive number” and “Cafeteria will be constructed” do not describe the plan as naturally as they could. Spelling errors such as “currenlty,” “Forcasted” and “avalaible” are noticeable, and “increase” is used where a noun or passive form is needed. Aim for precise map language and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple statements and longer constructions, and the reader can usually understand the intended changes. However, errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles and verb forms are frequent enough to make some sentences awkward. For example, “Number of gates will be increased” needs an article, while “Cafes are going to be increase” has an incorrect verb form. “There will a centre” is missing “be,” and “One new entrance … will be constructed” does not accurately express the plan’s layout. Sentence boundaries also need attention: the overview runs several statements together, and “Next year, after the redevelopment, The number…” has inconsistent punctuation and capitalisation. Practise accurate passive forms and build shorter, complete sentences before combining ideas.
