Student answer (Band 5.0)

Hi the left side showing the airport before redevolpment. In picture we can clearly see that the old airports lakes the basic facilities which make the airport ordinary for national as well as internationals passengers. In old airport lacks basic modern things and insuitable for use. Old aiport contains a signle cofee and gates which was only eight and single left for carry laguge and humans with a walkway.

In the right side the airport picture after redevelopment in which we can see that now the airport is less with modern facitilies which is more than attarctive for all over the world passengers. The details of the redeveloped airport is, it contains now the one check in which was also present in old airport too. Now it has a bag drop now with two cofee shop alongside ATM. Now its has also sky train with car hire and gates are modernize with 8 to 18.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the two stages and report several relevant changes, including the increase in gates, the addition of a sky train, bag drop, an ATM and car hire. However, the comparison is only partly accurate and the main features are not clearly prioritised. For example, the new concourse expands from a straight layout to a Y-shape, but this major change is not described. The gate increase is also misstated as “8 to 18”; the plans show gates increasing from 1–8 to 1–18. Some details are inaccurate or unclear: the old airport is not shown as lacking basic facilities, and the redevelopment has one café added in Arrivals while the existing café is relocated in Departures. A clearer overview and more precise descriptions of locations would strengthen the summary.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic two-part structure, moving from the airport “before redevolpment” to the airport “after redevelopment,” so the reader can follow the broad comparison. However, progression within each part is limited: facilities are listed in a loose sequence, and the major structural change to the concourse is omitted. Linking is repetitive, particularly through repeated uses of “now” and “which,” and some references are unclear, such as “the one check in” and “it has also sky train.” Organise the report around an overview followed by grouped details—for example, terminal changes and concourse changes—and use clear location-based links such as “in Departures” and “in Arrivals.” This would make the relationships between features easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “redevelopment,” “bag drop,” “ATM,” “sky train,” and “car hire,” which helps communicate the general topic. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make the meaning difficult to interpret. “Lakes the basic facilities” appears to mean that the airport lacks facilities, while “less with modern facitilies” does not clearly express the intended comparison. There are also repeated general words such as “airport,” “now,” and “contains,” and inaccurate forms such as “cofee,” “att arctive,” and “modernize.” Use precise map vocabulary, including “concourse,” “terminal,” “is extended,” and “is relocated,” and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts to connect ideas in longer sentences, but control is inconsistent and many sentence patterns are incomplete or faulty. For example, “In picture we can clearly see that the old airports lakes…” lacks a clear grammatical structure, and “In old airport lacks basic modern things” has no correctly formed subject. Verb forms and agreement are also problematic in “gates which was only eight” and “gates are modernize.” Articles and sentence boundaries are often missing, as in “now it has a bag drop now with two cofee shop.” Most sentences rely on simple clauses or repeated “which” constructions, with little accurate variety. Practise forming complete subject–verb sentences, maintaining tense, and using articles and plural forms consistently before attempting longer structures.
