Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main overall change: the concourse becomes Y-shaped and expands from 8 to 18 gates, and you note additions such as shops, a sky train, an ATM and car hire. You also recognise that passport control and customs remain. However, several important changes are only vaguely described or inaccurately located. For example, the sky train runs along the central stem between the two arms, not simply “from gate 1 to 18,” and the new check-in position and bag-drop area are not clearly reported. The comparison of facilities in Departures and Arrivals is also difficult to follow. To make the summary more complete, organise the main structural changes separately from changes inside each terminal area and describe their positions precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response contains relevant information and makes a basic contrast between the current and future airport, using phrases such as “In contrast” and “while.” However, it is presented as one continuous block, so the overview and supporting details are not clearly separated. The sequence also shifts between the concourse, security, Departures and Arrivals without a consistent route through the plans. Some links are unclear, particularly “there is addition of cafe or widen then bording pass checking counter,” which makes the relationship between the facilities hard to understand. Use a clear structure: an overview first, followed by one paragraph on the concourse and another on changes within the terminal. More precise linking and reference would make the progression easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt some task-relevant vocabulary, including “Y-shaped,” “renovation,” “passport control,” “car hire” and “sky train,” which helps convey the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling and word-form errors make parts difficult to interpret: “infrastuscture,” “tranform,” “widen” and “bording pass checking counter.” Some expressions are also imprecise for describing a plan; for example, “the great difference” does not specify what has changed, and “departure” is used where you mean the concourse. Aim for accurate facility names and location language such as “is relocated to,” “is added beside” and “the concourse is extended.” Proofreading spelling and choosing standard map-description terms will improve clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You try to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example with “while” and “In contrast,” but the response relies on long, loosely joined clauses and shows frequent problems with sentence structure and agreement. The opening, “The map given in tge daigram show,” lacks accurate subject–verb agreement and has an unclear construction; later, “the most noticeablly change will be” also has an incorrect adjective form and article pattern. Tense and number are inconsistent, as in “there is a adiition of shop,” while punctuation is insufficient to separate the main ideas. These errors sometimes make relationships between features difficult to understand. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then combine them using accurate subordinate clauses.
