Dear Smith,
I am writing this letter to inform that in the upcoming month, I have a business conference regarding the sales of my company and to develop business relastionships by meeting deligates. It is my first time to visit Toronto and I have free time after meetings , so I am planning to explore near by places in the city.
Actually, I am wondering if you will help to find ethentic foods and place for tourist places as you have been living here since last two years. Moreover I heard a lot that Toronto has so many places to see such CN tower, island on crusie and so many. And also I would like to invite you to join me and so togather we can spend time with each other.
I hope to hear from you and I am looking forward to accompany with me.It would be a great time to spend this time with a friend like you.
Best wishes,
MANPREET.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The letter addresses all three requirements: you explain that you are travelling for a business conference, ask for recommendations on food and tourist attractions, and invite your friend to join you. The purpose is clear, and mentioning the CN Tower and a cruise gives the request some relevant detail. The invitation is also explicit, although “join me and so together we can spend time” does not specify a particular activity or plan. To make the ideas more fully developed, explain briefly what you hope to do together—for example, visit the waterfront or have dinner—and give a little more context about your free time. Overall, the task is covered clearly, with some ideas more developed than others.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The message follows a sensible order: you introduce the trip, ask for local suggestions, make an invitation, and close politely. Paragraphing helps distinguish the main stages, and linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “I hope to hear from you” support the progression. However, the second paragraph combines several purposes in a long sequence, and “And also” adds an idea less smoothly than a direct transition would. The reference in “accompany with me” is also unclear, making the closing difficult to follow. For stronger cohesion, separate the request for recommendations from the invitation and use clear links between complete ideas. The overall organisation is coherent, though some connections remain awkward.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to the situation, including “business conference,” “sales,” “delegates,” “tourist places,” and “CN Tower,” so the reader can understand the main message. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “develop business relationships.” However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “relastionships,” “deligates,” “ethentic,” and “crusie” are misspelled, while “place for tourist places” is repetitive and unnatural. “Near by places” and “spend this time” are also imprecise in context. Build accuracy with common collocations such as “local attractions,” “try authentic food,” and “explore nearby areas.” The range is adequate for the topic, but control of spelling and natural phrasing is inconsistent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a sentence explaining the conference and another asking for recommendations. The main message is generally understandable, but errors in sentence construction and grammatical patterns are frequent enough to make parts awkward. For example, “I am writing this letter to inform that” needs an object after “inform,” and “I am looking forward to accompany with me” does not use the correct verb pattern. In “as you have been living here since last two years,” the time expression and article are not controlled. Punctuation spacing is also inconsistent, as in “meetings ,” and “years.Moreover.” Practise accurate verb patterns and shorter, complete sentences before combining ideas.
