Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5

You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: explaining the purpose of the trip, asking for recommendations, and inviting your friend to dinner. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend, and the purpose of the communication is clear throughout. The ideas are relevant and well-developed, providing enough context about your business trip to Alberta to make the request for sightseeing advice logical. You have fulfilled the requirements of the task effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The letter is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas. Each paragraph focuses on a specific aspect of the prompt, which helps the reader follow your message easily. You use some basic cohesive devices such as 'So' and 'If', though the flow could be improved with a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in addition'). Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the introduction, the business context, the request for advice, and the invitation.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'recreational sights' and 'quality time'. However, there are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'god health' (a spelling error) and 'explore sights' (where 'explore the city' or 'visit landmarks' would be more natural). You also use 'sights' repeatedly; using synonyms like 'attractions', 'landmarks', or 'points of interest' would improve the lexical variety and sophistication of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical slips, such as 'I am coming in to your city' (unnecessary 'in'), 'being a manager I have to come with team' (missing articles), and 'it's been long when we last time met' (awkward phrasing). Despite these errors, your control of grammar is generally sufficient to communicate your message without causing confusion for the reader.
