Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: explaining the purpose of the trip, asking for recommendations, and inviting your friend to join you. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend, being informal and friendly. The ideas are relevant and clearly presented. To reach a higher band, you could expand slightly more on the 'purpose' of the trip or provide more specific details about the 'sightseeing' to show a more developed response. However, all requirements are met effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is generally easy to follow, and the ideas are logically sequenced. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'Also' and 'If'. However, the paragraphing is quite limited; the entire body of the letter is presented as one block. To improve, you should use clear paragraph breaks to separate the different topics (e.g., one paragraph for the trip details, another for the invitation). Additionally, some transitions between sentences feel a bit abrupt, and using a wider variety of linking words would improve the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You use a range of vocabulary that is adequate for the task, such as 'charming', 'unforgettable', and 'reunion'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'since we meet' (should be 'since we met') and 'a weak' (should be 'a week'). While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, it lacks the variety and precision required for higher bands. Focusing on using more natural collocations and ensuring correct spelling will help you improve your score in this area.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as 'My company have decided' (subject-verb agreement), 'might will get' (double modal), and 'there is a new amusement park has opened' (redundant verb structure). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to impact the overall accuracy. Working on subject-verb agreement and modal verb usage will significantly improve your writing.
