Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5

You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: explaining the purpose of the trip, asking for recommendations, and inviting your friend to meet up. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend, and the purpose of the communication is clear throughout. The ideas are relevant and well-developed, ensuring the reader understands exactly why you are writing and what you expect from the interaction. You have maintained a consistent, friendly tone that is well-suited to the task requirements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is logically organized, with each paragraph focusing on a specific aspect of the prompt. You have used basic cohesive devices such as 'Therefore', 'also', and 'So' to link your ideas. While the flow is generally smooth, the paragraphing could be slightly more refined to separate the invitation from the logistical details more clearly. However, the progression of ideas is easy to follow, and the use of referencing is generally clear, making the letter easy to read and understand.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You have used a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message clearly. There are some minor spelling errors, such as 'mettings' (meetings), 'plane' (plan), 'finnish' (finish), and 'arrengements' (arrangements). While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede communication. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more varied and precise vocabulary to describe your activities, rather than relying on common phrases like 'hang out' or 'grab a dinner'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical slips, such as 'How are things goings?' instead of 'How are things going?', 'in the 25th of April' instead of 'on the 25th of April', and 'if yo are not' (typo). Despite these errors, the meaning remains clear throughout the letter. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and preposition usage. Your control of basic sentence structures is generally good, but more attention to proofreading for minor slips would enhance your score.
