Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: explaining the purpose of the trip, asking for recommendations, and inviting your friend to join you. The tone is appropriately informal for a letter to a friend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of the business trip is a bit vague, and the request for activities could be more specific to show a genuine interest in the destination. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is expanded with more descriptive detail, which would help in creating a more engaging and natural-sounding letter.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is generally easy to follow, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the purpose of the visit to the invitation. You have used some basic cohesive devices like 'After that' and 'That's why' to link your sentences. However, the paragraphing is quite fragmented; the letter would benefit from grouping related ideas into distinct paragraphs (e.g., one for the trip details and one for the invitation/activities). Additionally, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect your thoughts more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message clearly, such as 'hectic schedule' and 'last minute rush'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and minor errors, such as 'share one exciting news' (should be 'some exciting news') and 'I have a 1 day business' (should be 'a one-day business trip'). The vocabulary is functional but lacks the precision and natural collocation expected at higher bands. Focusing on learning common collocations and refining your use of articles and pluralization will help improve your lexical accuracy and range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'I was planing from long time' (should be 'I have been planning for a long time'), 'I would'nt make it' (should be 'I couldn't make it'), and 'informing you in 2 months before' (should be 'two months in advance'). While these errors do not prevent communication, they are persistent. To improve, pay closer attention to verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of prepositions, as these are currently hindering your accuracy.
