Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response successfully covers all three bullet points required by the prompt. You clearly explain the purpose of your trip by stating that you are planning to visit your city next month for a business trip and want to get a break from your casual routine. You also effectively ask about things to do and see by requesting recommendations for museums, parks, and restaurants. Finally, you include an invitation for your friend to explore the city and go for a dinner together. The tone is appropriately informal and friendly throughout. Although some ideas, such as asking your friend to find a hotel, are slightly abrupt in phrasing, all parts of the task are addressed clearly, fulfilling the requirements for Band 6.5 or 7.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The letter maintains a coherent overall arrangement, and the progression of ideas is generally clear as you move from the purpose of the trip to asking for recommendations and finally making an invitation. However, paragraphing is poorly handled, as the entire body of the letter is compressed into a single dense paragraph instead of being broken down into logical sections. Furthermore, cohesive devices are sometimes faulty or mechanical, such as 'Since, you know the city very well because you living there for many years and I love hear your recommendations like which things are best in city to visit furthermore any interesting museums'. Run-on sentences and punctuation slips make the transitions less smooth. These features place the response firmly at Band 5.5.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your message clearly. You attempt some less common phrases, such as 'casual routine' and 'golden days', which show an effort to use natural language. However, there are noticeable lexical and collocation errors throughout the text, such as 'because you living there' (missing auxiliary verb) and 'if find any hotel for me' (missing subject pronoun). Words are also occasionally misused in terms of register or word form. While these vocabulary errors do not completely impede communication, they restrict the lexical score to a Band 5.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response shows a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'It would be great if you also can come with me and we can explore the city'. However, grammatical control is inconsistent. There are several noticeable errors, including missing auxiliary verbs ('because you living there'), incorrect prepositions ('in that days'), and run-on sentences lacking proper punctuation. For instance, the sentence starting with 'Since, you know the city...' is overly long and structurally tangled. While meaning is generally clear despite these mistakes, the frequency of errors prevents the writing from reaching Band 6.0, making Band 5.5 a more accurate reflection of your grammatical control.
